Bearded Dragons!!?

Recommended Posts

i have two rankin dragons and often lizard sit my friends beardy.

you need to ensure you get a good vivarium, beardy's get quite big and love to climb. their diet consists of both fruit and veg and live food such as crickets, grass hoppers and mealworms. they need an ajustable heat lamp and a UV light. UV strip lights are better than the bulbs as they give better coverage in the viv.

they are easy to handle and tame quickly.

this may help http://www.beardeddragoncare.net/

good luck.

this is my viv. its a good sized one for rankin dragons as they only get to be about 12" in length (the UV is off cause it spoilt the photo!)

thanks your viv looks really good did you make it or buy it?

Trying to work out what viv to get as we have room for a 3ft or 4ft but i was told not to put babies in a 4ft as it would be too big for them to find their food!!

Thanks for the link I am trying to absorb all the info on beardies I can

they do grow very quickly and buying a small viv works out expencive when you need to upgrade! trust me there will not be an issue at them finding food they are attracted by movement and move like lightening!! mine are so used to what time they are fed they scratch up at the glass and have their heads in the chricket box before i can flick any out!!!!

if you are worried about the viv being to big you can always put your beardy in a smaller box when you feed it but honestly it's not really an issue!

to increase theoverall size of your viv you can make it taller as beardy's love to climb so branches can be added. just be careful to have a good clearence from the heat lamp as they can get very hot. also dont use heated rocks as these can be dangerous to the softer under belly skin.

our viv was made by the shop who sold us the beardy thay are very good and will make any design you want.

i've already fed them today but i will try and post a video tomorrow of their eating habbits!
