Cooks
Well I said to Palmer07 that I hadn't had many eggs from Flo recently but was thinking of checking the bushes as I had seen her in there... well..... off I went this morning and there were 6 of her eggs in their own little leafy nest!!! little rat bag that she is!!! So I am going to give them to the girls for a treat later (as they sank in water), I dont know how long they had actually been there and I wont risk them myself but the girls can have scrambled egg later. So how do I stop her??? sometimes she lays in the nestbox other times she doesn't... she's a bit thick..
fluffyknickers
hold on...isnt sinking in water mean they are fresh! If not then I have been eating rotten eggs since I got my girls!
Cooks
yes they are fresh when sinking... I wouldn't give bad eggs to the girls thats all, but as they have been out there for.. ????? I dont know how long, I wouldn't want to eat them myself sinking or not. sorry for the cunfusion.
Ain't Nobody Here
What a little minx . Not sure how you stop that . Pot eggs in the nestbox, perhaps?
Space Chick
Oh Dear Cooks. The lengths that some girls will go to for scrambled eggs
Cooks
only trouble with the pot eggs in the nestbox is that Cocoa is semi broody and given the chance to sit on a pot egg she would relish.. little trouble makers thats what they are.. good job I love them.. Blackrocksrock
One of mine made a nest in the bushes and the other one laid in it - then she went under the hosta bush and what a noise she made but has not laid - I dread to think when the vegetation dies down how many we will find under things!! as she is not laying ( I hope) or she is laying away again.
