Are you with Southern Electric?

Recommended Posts

I am :D

I was in M&S this week & they had an instore promotion of for their M&S energy, which is in conjunction with M&S energy.

Basically if you sign up for M&S energy but you are already with SE, then your account will not change,BUT you get a £20 gift voucher for signing up (for duel fuel), plus another £10 if you go paperless, plus another £15 if you reduce your consumption by 10% in a year, plus another £10 a year, every year, for being with them.

Sounded like a good deal to me - I signed up & my vouchers came through 3 days later :P

We are all at some sort of disadvantage in some parts of our lives though...............

I couldn't get broadband for 5 years, so had to pay more for dial-up+phone than I would have been on a BB+phone deal.

I estimate that it cost us over £2k for the privilege of not being able to get BB for all that time....

You may be interested to know that they also offer a £10 voucher for single fuel users.......

We also don't get the cheaper broadband deals. Why I think this should be unlawful is that a similar discount is NOT oferred to those of use who do not have dual fuel coming into the house. Fairness would be if we were offered the SAME discount as anyone who has the advantage of being able to switch 2 fuels. Not having a gas supply is enough of a disadvantage but then to have to pay MORE for your electricity than someone who does have both gas and electric only adds insult to injury!

If I was 6' 2", I would be the correct weight. Life is unfair :(:(

We are with Southern electricity too and have been looking around at cheaper deals, so thanks for posting Sarah :D

We don't have gas as too remote, but pay through the nose for oil. 1,000 litres cost us £600 odd pound last year, the same amount only £280 this year. There is no option to price fix oil, the same way that you can with gas/electricity. Unfair, but the way it is :(:?

We don't even have an option to change our electricity! When this house was built, there was two meters put in, one for the heaters and water, and one for everything else, and we were signed up to a tariff with Scottish Power. No other energy provider can offer tariffs that match the specific way our meters are wired. It's a pain!

I hate to think how much it would cost to have the meters rewired to provide us with a choice!

We're with Ebico for both gas & electric. They buy from Southern Electric and run as an equitable billing company (not for profit but aiming to serve people).

We moved to them a year ago after ATROCIOUS service from our previous supplier.

We've been VERY happy with them. They have delightful stafff who are only too helpful and that is the most important thing to us. They aren't the cheapest but we have a good service.
