Ziggy
I don't know if this has already been done on here... but was thinking, what is everyone's favourite ever food, not as in dish, but the one ingredient/item you couldn't live without? I have a lot of favourites foods and dishes, from curries to boiled eggs, coffee and champagne, garlic, raspberries, broccoli, nuts, spicy prawn crackers (odd for an otherwise vegetarian, I know), and always wondered, what would I miss the most... What does everyone else feel their life wouldn't be the same without? I'll go first. Mine is Onions. I adore them!! and put them in everything!! (okie, maybe not in champagne... yet ) Edited October 9, 2009 by Guest

Ziggy
What a coincidence... Just recently I was rambling on about how the best food combination in the world is 'cheese and onion' ... I call it 'the perfect marriage'...
Space Chick
I'd say flour, as it can be the basis for so many incredible things..... Pasta, Bread, Pastry, Sauces, Cakes, Pancakes, Yorkshire Pudding. But there again Eggs too for Pasta, some Bread, Sauces, Pastry, Cakes, Pancakes, Yorkshire Pudding. Do I have to choose between them
majorbloodnock
As a staple, I'd also go for pasta. However, as a favourite, I'm going to stretch a point a bit and go for seafood (yes, I know that's several different animals, but it's my post, so there). bluekarin
my one staple would have to be potatoes! Chips, crisps, baked, fried, boiled, mashed, added to cakes (Polish cheesecake for example!) soups, curry, fritters . . . . I could go on, but I think you get my point Onions would be my second
