Egluntyne
I've got 20 chickens, 12 of which are on layers pellets at the mo, and a 20kg sack lasts approx 10 days.

Redwing
My chooks get through a sack every 3 or 4 days but I am not a good example as I am feeding table birds as well as layers, bantams and chicks My laying hens eat about 100-110g a day each, the norm is 125g I understand Its all different types of food so it doesnt seem as bad in real life as the food is in different forms in different bins so is not as noticeable Are you sure you arent feeding rats or mice as well as chooks? Also consider changing brands, if a feed is low quality (not necessarily low price I hasten to add) they need to eat more to keep condition as every mouthful has less nutrition Also look at your feeder type, it could be that they are shovelling it out and stamping it in to the ground

Falkor
My six on Layers seemed to be getting through pellets at an alarming rate. I switched them to another brand which I have heard is better quality and I have also seen birds that have been fed on it since birth. I made the switch just over a week ago and they are def eating less...I hope this is because they feel that they don`t need as much rather than them not liking it! Then the ducks are on A&P duck growers, the quail are on A&P breeders pellets and the babies are on A&P poultry growers.
