Did you see that photo of a model in the paper the other week - she had been so rearranged that her waist looked really odd. They put a normal photo of her at the side, so that you could see the difference. When MIL became the lady captain of her golf club a couple of years ago she requested that her photo be retouched. Now me - what you see is what you get (luckily the wrinkles are only just beginning to appear) and I'm past the stage of caring - but the pressure on the youngsters is dreadful. When I look at my daughter I am so relieved that she likes to be different and is happy with herself.

It was a Ralph Lauren model who was reported to have been fired for being "too fat" (she's a size 8!). There was a digitally retouched picture of her released in Japan, which, quite frankly looks vile. Her waist is smaller than her head:

That's the one - dreadful isn't it. She looks so much nicer without all that rediculous photographic manipulation.

I'm shocked. I knew they did all sorts of manipulation, but she looked so pretty before they tweaked everything about her, it just wasn't needed
