Naming your chickens...

Recommended Posts

Thought this might be useful or indeed humerous for anyone looking for chicken names...

http://www.freewebs.com/professorchicken/chickennames.htm

Incidentally we are looking for 3 new names, hence searching and finding this...

so far we have : Miss. Pennyapple, and Pecan (Hopefully she will be a light sandy colour) So she will be "Pecan Sandie", which about 6 Americans on the west coast will find amusing, because they don't make that candy on the east coast any more.

just looking for that 3rd and final name now lol  harder than you'd think.

Especiall when Sally keeps coming up with stupid names like "Phallus"... :shameonu: seeing as we have Poach, Pennyapple, and Pecan, she was thinking along the "P" Lines.... Sesame street missed out on her didn't they :) This is truely excrutiating :wall:

Well I've convinced Sal that perhaps we shouldn't stick to just P's, as for example, Miss Pennyapple ACTUALLY begins with an M, and plus out of equality, I should perhaps choose a name, hehe, and I have gone for Angua, which is named after a Terry Pratchett Discworld character, Delphine Angua von Uberwald, who is a blonde Werewolf dating Captain Carrot. And we will probably end up with 2 light sandy coloured chickens and a white one :) Introductions are going to be fun. :)

but anyway check out the list in the OP, there's some STRANGE names for chickens, and some.... perhaps a little racist :S

awesome! always nice to meet another Pratchett fan! :D didn't realise until I did some hunting around this afternoon, there aren't that many female characters outside of the witches, cheery littlebottom the dwarf, and Sally the vampire. Bit of a sausage fest the old discworld :) still I believe Great A-Tuin's still undecided and up for grabs. :)

I had 2 of my girls' my names years before I got the girls - shows how long I took to take the plunge

Rita was always going to be my ginger one. Short for Henrietta.

Joy is short for (h)enjoy.

The DH named Grace...........for what we are about to receive. :notalk:

My next two will be Cissie and Ada - after the Les Dawson & Roy Barraclough characters. I think it will suit a pair of clucking chooks down to the ground.
