Family superstitions?

Any family superstitions out there?

When Liverpool were getting thrashed 3-0 at half time in the Champions League Final in 2005, I got fed up watching and turned the tv over in disgust. We went on to win it. Some time in the next season, I was watching Liverpool and a similar thing happened. We also went to a friendly match where Liverpool played CSK Sophia, a team of part-timers and they beat us.

Now I am not allowed to watch or listen to Liverpool at all.

I had a feeling that we were going to beat Man United today so we had to make sure that I couldn't hear the match on the radio. I went and sat in the chicken run for the last part and next door put it on in the garden. I was sat in the run holding my ears and talking to Rafa Henitas and Dalglish.

Trouble is, I only have to listen to a snippet of a Liverpool match and the opposition score. It's not funny as they're the team I grew up with. I lived 5 minutes walk from the ground and went with my Dad most weeks.

:(

We try to take our son to as many local Lowestoft games as we can. I stress that it wouldn't matter which league Liverpool were in or what position, they will always be my team.

When England thrashed Germany we were at OH's cousins. I said I couldn't bear to watch any more and went into the kitchen - we scored. I came back and nothing happened so I went into the kitchen - we scored again so I went back to look and was told to go back out again and not to come in until it was over. That has happened a few times (must be pure coincidence) when I have had to leave and our team whatever it was seemed to win.

We watch a lot of ice hockey and you can guarantee our team will score when you are having a drink, eating a pie, ...

Went to Hull for the match on Saturday and at the start of the second period I said to the people sitting behind I hoped we wouldn't score since they were all sitting holding their cups of hot chocolate. Guess what... we scored!

I forgot to say before (last post just reminded me) that hubby has a 'lucky kettle' that to be honest has seen better days. He gets it out of the loft for cup games, etc. The theory is that if he leaves the room to put the kettle on then Liverpool score.

OH always has to knock on his book before putting it down at bed time - 6 times to be exact - for luck. I say OCD OCD OCD!!!! DS has a lucky four leaf clover in a little plastic bag that he has had for years - I thought it was something else and began to panic until I saw the shape of the leaves and remembered - it is rather threadbare.
