Ziggy
Hi everybody, Here are a few pictures I took of Charlie today during his 'ten minute madness' in the garden... I can't believe how tall he has grown already, I'm sure he grows an inch every hour!! I love his expression on some of these pics, he looks nearly human! Oh, and by the way, Claret was right about frankfurters... he loves them! Sorry for posting so many pics, just couldn't resist sharing them all... He is a very sweet pup... One thing I hadn't expected, was my child's reaction to his arrival... all the girls adore him, including the youngest, but she has become soooo demanding since he's been here, wanting to ensure that I'll take care of her first... as if I'd neglect her because of the puppy!! It's every moment, 'mummy... i want a drink', 'mummy I want tv on', 'mummy I want a snack', 'mummy I want a bath', no matter what she asks, within a moment of being given it, she instantly asks for something else or something more, and all I hear is 'muuummmmyyyyy' all day long with various requests... she's driving me up the wall. If I'm with Charlie, she'll sometimes come and push him off, saying 'no, Charlie, that's MY mummy' I knew a lot about sibling rivalry, but never thought my youngest would get it 'cross species' . Sunshine
I love looking at pictures of Charlie! He is absolutely gorgeous! I bet he is getting a bit big to carry around now! We used to take Lola everywhere when she couldn't go on the ground. How long is it until he can go on walks?

BeckyBoo
What a beautiful pup, lovely expression on his face, bet he gets away with murder. Could you give your youngest some responsibility for him, give her his food to put down, that way he also has to learn that she's above him in the pecking order. Maybe she could try and put his lead onto his collar before you take him out. Or if he's crate trained or training get her to put him in sometimes, then she'll also know that you value her above the dog. My dog trainer when Delilah was a pup said I always had to make sure me and the kids went through any doors before her, another way of making sure they know their place, now she waits for us before barging in! (well, most times anyway ) Hope she gets the hang of it soon, can't be nice for you all her feeling a bit insecure, I'm sure she'll soon grow to love him, he's so cute how could anyone resist! Ziggy
Thanks everybody . I'm sure Leia will be fine soon, she's quite a demanding little madam at the best of times anyway (maybe because she's always had to share me with her three big sisters, I still think the eldest had it nice, having me all to herself for a couple of years), and I think she's decided she wanted to be the cute little one in the house, not the puppy! I agree with the advice given, we've been getting her (and the other girls, in turn) to feed him his dinner, and hold the leash with us in the garden, and so on... I have been practising getting Charlie to wait at doors, and he is very good... sometimes obviously he's just excited and barges out, and often then I get him to go back, and the girls and I go in/out first, then say 'stay' then call him out... he's learning that very fast, sitting down looking at us very expectantly, his bottom twitching on the ground waiting, and then when we say 'good boy, come on', he just bounces off like a racer at the green start flag! I'm not too worried about Leia, she is getting loads of attention and cuddles from me, her dad, and her three big sisters, who dote on her and constantly compete over her affection, and she is very used to animals, what with the whole zoo we already have (as a baby, she thought she was one of the kittens, she and them were always rolling around the floor together and snuggling up together), so I'm sure that, as long as we keep making sure we don't give Charlie too much cuddly attention when she is wanting some, she'll soon take it in her stride... We have just come home after a long schoolrun (clubs, staggered pick ups) and it's amazing the greeting you get from a dog!! The cats are usually friendly and cuddly, but the happiness in Charlie when he sees us is like being reunited with a long lost best friend after 30 years . It's nice to feel so appreciated!! I'm glad I got to take more pics, it had been a while and I'd really like a nice big collection of photos from his puppy months, after all he is growing so fast... Need to use the 'sports' option on my camera though, as he is so fast and fidgety most pics otherwise turn into a blur...

Ziggy
I don't know who is worse - your daughter or Jazz I was wondering exactly the same the other day, thinking of Jazz and Tali, thinking I was glad I didn't have another dog to worry about when introducing Charlie to the family, when DD4 stomped in the kitchen saying something really moany and I thought 'ummmm... maybe a toddler isn't much easier after all
