Griffin
I've got one! Sausage is about 16 weeks old now and she's very very sweet. She is so quiet and gentle. She's no trouble at all and I love her to bits.
Redwing
I have a Fav, Tawny is very sweet and gentle but this coupled with her poor visibility (big beard) makes her a prime candidate for bullying If approached she will stick her bottom in the air for peckng and hide her face I have since seen a few other Favs also doing this too After a horrific attack a while back Tawny lived alone for a few months only being paired with my most gentle cockerel a few days back (after his two girls were sold and he was alone too) I dont have confidence that she can ever go back with the flock Tawny is also terribly clumsy and stupid living in a dream world most of the time too, she gazes at the sky a lot I wouldnt have another unless I had a few of them - safety in numbers and all that A lot of their size is fluff but they are still big birds
tom123
Would 1 be OK with 2 other Brahma hens all the same age and introduced at the same time? She looks lovely Tasha
Redwing
You might be ok Tom, Brahmas are quite gentle too No doubt that someone will be along soon to say that their Favs are absolutely fine with other chooks, maybe not are are as thick as mine! Jools
Anyone who's had Favs always says they're really friendly, gentle birds. They're supposed to be a great all-purpose breed too, I'm surprised they're not more popular.
Plum
Tasha she may be a bit stupid but she is gorgeous.
Redwing
Tasha she may be a bit stupid but she is gorgeous. Tawny is from a show breeder Plum, she is good quality, sadly the attack has left her lop sided so her show days are over before they began
Plum
Glad to hear she's got some company, I have been thinking about her
sparkysmum
We have a salmon fav called Whiskers. She's just lovely & completely dim. Will take some pictures when this foul weather is over. No chance of bullying here as we've only got the 3 and they're all happy together. She's ever so comical and gentle. Would have a whole flock of them if we could. No eggs so far tho' but I guess it's early days. Go for it
