alison
Can I feed my chickens some left over smoked salmon that didn't get wrapped properly in the fridge and has gone a it curly at the edges? It smells fine, I just don;t fancy it myself and it seems a shame to throw it in the bin. The eggs wouldn't taste fishy would they?
Jools
I wouldn't because brining is part of the smoking process. Maybe you could freeze it and add it to a fish pie or something another time?
Olly
I don't give mine any meat or dairy ... you can if they're moulting give them tuna or catfood for extra protein, but as Jools says the smoking/brine probably isn't good for them. Guest
I think it might be a tad salty for them. I think you have to eat it the same day as you unwrap it don't you? I'd say safer to bin it, fish is something I don't tend to play use-by roulette with
alison
Thank you, I will have to make sure my son wraps i properly in future! Binned this time, but will use the fish pie option next time.
