Help - chicken eaten silicon sealant

Recommended Posts

I am rather worried as Sam today has eaten a very large strip of silicon sealant from my sliding door which backs directly on our garden.

My husband tried to stop her running in just his pants around the garden but she ate a very large strip of it about 15cms. Will she pass this or will I have to take her to the vets?

She seems fine but I have put them in to stop them doing this as she tried to pull of another bit to eat. How can I stop her doing this longer term?

I wouldn't mind but I have been giving her live meal worms for the last few days and now she wants to eat plastic.

on a serious note, I'm sure she will be fine - one of mine ate some silicone sealant and was absolutely fine. It wasn't a huge bit tho.

On a less serious note, was I the only one laughing my head off at the thought of your husband chasing a chicken round the garden in his pants?? Bless him, he obviously loves the chooks! lol :-)
