Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

I've just tried a few drops of Citricidal in a mug of warm water to see whether it would get rid of my sore throat (my understanding is that it's for humans, right?) I had to tip it out as it's really bitter!

 

My hens don't seem to mind drinking water laced with this stuff. Can chickens taste bitter?

I tried it in a glass of water when I had a cold. it was awful. My daft OH didn't read the label and took it neat, it made him physically sick and he could taste it for hours after. The chickens don't seem to mind it though although I put ACV in the water as well so that might hide the taste.

I have it in cold water three times a day. I can't taste anything, just water. Must be an age thing. Maybe I'm losing my senses.

Maybe the temperature of the water affects the flavour..?
