Tutti Frutti
I've been wondering about this for a while now. They only do it occasionally and for a short time - and then walk off. Tallulah did it again this afternoon. Is it something I need to watch? We've had them 3 weeks today and they've settled in really well and are enjoying life I was just curious but then searched on this forum and it seems that poorly chooks do it - do healthy chooks do it too? I Googled it (uh oh!) and read that it means they're cold OK they have some feathers missing and one has a bald bum but they're sleeping together in the Eglu and feel lovely and warm when I hold them I know this is trivial in comparison to other posts here but I'm fairly new to all this and still learning! Thanks!
Chicken Shirl
Mine do it a lot, and they are not cold over here, and they are not ill as far as I know. I think it's quite normal, but there again I could be wrong. Have you checked that she hasn't got something in her foot? Like a thorn or something like that. xx
coco
Prue my light sussex cross does this quite a lot. As far as I know she's not cold and shes perfectly healthy [touch wood]. I think its just something chickens do.
Tutti Frutti
Thank you both. My two seem absolutely fine but I'll (try to!) have a look for thorns tomorrow. It's just weird how they both do it!
