The Dogmother
I have just discovered a greasy or oily mark on a soft leather bag that I love. No idea what it is, but does anyone have any clever ideas on how to remove it?
henriette
What a shame! As far as I know, don't rub it!! You can try sprinkling talcum powder on the stain and leave it for a while then shake it off. It might absorb some of the grease. You can also try things like cat grit (fullers earth) or even aubiose - anything that might just suck up the grease. Hopefully someone else will have a definite answer for you
Valkyrie
RE: Cooking Grease on Gray Leather Shoes GREASE Steps: 1. Blot excess grease with a clean cloth. 2. Sprinkle talcum powder or cornstarch on the affected area. 3. Let sit for at least 4 hours, then wipe off the powder. courtesy of ehow.com Although someone else says it won't work completely and to hope it fades. Otherwise, Claret, you might as well cover the rest in oil to match. Ooh or beeswax. I wonder if that does leather any good?
The Dogmother
Thanks for that Koojie, I'll try some talcum on it tonight.
Happy-Mama
I got a small stain out of my handbag using the radley foam cleaner that could be worth a try if the talc doesn't work
