Smart Feeder - Light sensor values

Hi,

 

I'm getting some new girls in a couple of weeks. I've decided on a LF Silkie and a Pekin from one breeder, and have found another breeder close to that has Bantam Silkies. Can I mix the two sizes? I believe the Bantam Silkie is smaller than a Pekin? (And I already have Australorps and a Pekin, so have them to consider size wise to the bantam silkie as well).

You should be fine if you keep an eye on the intro's and do it properly - will need to take it slowly

 

I don't know if silkie bantams are smaller than pekins but they should be ok

Silkie bantams aren't the same size or slightly bigger than a Pekin so you should be OK and, as Lewis said, just keep an eye on them all and take it slow.

There's not a huge amount of difference between LF and bantam Silkies anyway. And I must have a particularly small Pekin because my bantam Silkie is bigger than her

i think its all about how slowly you do the intros- ive got a bantam silke and a cochin! they love each other!!

My mini silkie was half the size of my LF silkies. I could sit her on the palm of my hand Whereas dealing with Tia and Maria the LF's takes both hands but they do wriggle and jiggle!

Thank you all very much for the replies. It could be that it's a Mini Silkie as palmer07 said, (it was the breeder that told me it was smaller than a Pekin). And if it is would it be picked on by the others for being so small?

My other concern is we have a cat, he doesn't bother with the ones we have at the moment they chase him off, but a little white ball of fluff might be quite temting!?!

It all depends, as the others have said, bantams and miniatures tend to differ in size. A friend breeds silkie miniatures for showing and they are quite tiny.
