Raina
Hi all, Yesterday some Idiot decided they would light a fire. It smelt really bad (like burning rubber) and there was smoke everywhere (it looked like it was foggy) so we bought the girls in! By 11pm there was no more horrible smell and there was hardly any smoke left so we decided to put them back in the coop. They both drank some water (LL drank more than Orakiah) and went to bed (Orakiah with a bright red comb and LL with a reddish comb) This morning i came down to check if there were any eggs and saw Lady Lay had a very pale comb could this just be a coincidence or has the smell & smoke harmed her (Orakiah is fine, she even laid an egg today)
Christian
Possibly a coincidence One of mine has a permanently pick comb. Has never been bright red like the others, but is one of my best layers Just keep an eye on her and make sure she is eating and drinking. Plum
Don't know if it is connected Raina but I have noticed that one of mine has a pale comb before she lays. Sounds as though you brought them in before they could be harmed.
Raina
Thanks, I don't ever remember her comb (and wattles) being this pale though,it's pinkish with lots of white dots i'm going to check on her again later. Oh and she's eating and drinking fine,i boiled Orakiahs eggs for them and they ate the lot lol
