Chook n Boo Mum
Buffie is back indoors again, with similar lethargy & general "unwellness" that she had when she had just hatched the Bufflings, then it was starving herself and an impacted crop...this time I'm not so sure, she has a soft but not sloppy crop & is pooing mainly water with greeny solids as though she hasn't eaten much. SInce she came in at about 1030 this morning she's eaten a cage cup of ready brek, a small amount of corn, a few mealworms and a few pellets......and drunk nearly 4 cups of water .......3 of them were maximum dosed with Avipro and the last one is plain. Her chest is wet so some of it has run down her beak & over the floor of the "sick bay", though not a huge amount. Is it possible to OD them with Avipro? I'm working on the theory that she's not eaten enough for whatever reason, will feed her up indoors then once she's better embark on mass worming ...such an exciting life I lead Sha x

Chook n Boo Mum
Thank you both I'll pass on her Omlet Aunties snuggles when she gets up in the morning We've had an eventful day here...........Buffs came in earlier..........then Berry was brought in by DS who'd seen B & a Rockie having a set-to through the orange netting & resulted in a bleeding comb on the little boy, cue purple spray everywhere ....then DS shot out the door a little later as Jasmine had got her head stuck through the blasted netting & had gone all quiet (most unlike her !!) & still..........thankfully neither of them are showing any signs of lasting harm....just as well as "sick bay" is in use...............but the orange netting will be replaced very soon Maybe I'll drop the Avipro dose to normal levels tomorrow.... Oh yes an Lavender laid her first eggie yesterday....darling little thing it is too..............both the egg ad the chook , she crouches everytime I so much as look at her & as I feel it's only polite to acknowledge the crouch she gets at least a stroke & often a little cuddle...not sure if Berry has attempted "the deed" yet, but she is certainly his favourite, much to his sister's displeasure, she doesn't do anything to Lavender but does have a habit of barging Berry to get his attention.....they'll miss him when he goes to his new home Sha x
The Dogmother
I can't say that I am ever terribly scientific in my dosing either Sha, but I do just add a peck to water or wet mash and they seem to thrive on it. It is especially good for treating shock, birds or other animals which won't eat, or when vet prescribed drugs have upset an animals tum.
