lisa33
Hi all, I don't know if anyone can help me or not. My friend is planning on giving birth using a birthing pool. Having not had children nor ever planning too I can only imagine what this involves. She has a very private question that she woul like answered but cannot seem to get an answer anywhere. If anyone has used a birthing pool and are willing to answer this question please can you let me know. I will pm you with the query as I think it's not really suitable for the forum. Any advise would be gratefully received. Many thanks XXX

whoopsie
What do you want to know? I've done 60 waterbirths and used pools for countless labours.
Couperwife
good grief 60 children, you must live in a shoe (im assuming you are a midwife? ) cathy x

Griffin
Mr Griffin was still filling up the birthing pool I'd bought to have our youngest in when she arrived I never got to set foot in it because my labour was 45 minutes long from start to finish! The pool was however the perfect height for leaning against whilst on my knees next to it so it kind of did serve a purpose, just not the one I'd envisaged
Couperwife
Definately a midwife Cathy!! phew! i have have a friend who had her son in a birthing pool, she said it was great highly recommended. Griffin, bad luck about not getting in the pool, but I suppose a 45 min labour sort of makes up for it cathy x
