My girl & I took a day trip to town last summer just to go there - we both walked in as DD cups,& walked out as FF Are there Premier Inns in the area - they are good value? Willow
I don't know it but I searched for reviews on two sites I'd found good for real hotel info http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g186338-d279636-Reviews-Grange_Lodge_Hotel-London_England.html http://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/grange-lodge.en.html click on guest review tab
Goosey Lucy
I'd recommend Premier Inn too. premierinn.com then you can put in Ealing and see the results. OH uses them when he travels with work. Their guarantee is good too, if ever there's been a problem and he's complained then he's had a full refund. He hasn't needed to complain very often but he's someone who will always speak up if things are not how they should be
miffy
mmm gone off that place after reading those...it was the dirty sheets that did it thinking of the Ramada Ealing, its location is ideal and OH has just informed me he will be going into London for 36 hours and I will be all alone on the friday!! so I would prefer some comfort if I am to be alone. Looked at Premier & Travel Lodge but locations arent ideal as I shall have no car, thanks for the suggestions though
Ness3103
this is only across the road from me and there is a bus that takes you into ealing. the bus stop is about a 5/10 minute walk from the hotel. http://www.premierinn.com/en/hotel/GREMYL/london-greenford xx
Looney
I think there are a couple of chain hotels (maybe one is premier lodge) in Brentford. It's only a short bus ride (number 65) to Ealing or take the bus the other way to Kew, Richmond or Kingston. Might not be as much to offer in the evening in Brentford though, certainly wasn't when I lived there anyway!
patsylabrador
Be alert and hold tight to your handbag especially if you're on your own. The police in the Ealing area are very busy people. Be aware of drunks on the streets who are a permanent feature and choose a hotel that is part of a large chain, like the ones suggested. miffy
I guess buses are frequent up there during the day, will I be ok going about with my laptop on the friday as I am planning a library day?
patsylabrador
You will probably go there and have a lovely time and think it's a nice bit of London. I just have a little knowledge of the underbelly of the area and would have felt bad if I didn't give you a heads up. It is a nice area, as Terry Pratchett says, open your eyes and then open them a little more!
Looney
I always liked Ealing, so long as you take the same safety precautions as you would anywhere else in London I'm sure you'll be fine Buses are frequent

Geoid
The 120 bus service is terrible, don't use it. Make sure you keep valuables out of sight.
