patsylabrador
Just read that according to a dossier released by Natural England, big cat sightings have been confirmed. I wondered if anyone has seen anything interesting. I've seen a big cat in my garden, but that might have just been fat!
Purplemaniacs
I saw one many years ago when we lived by Rutland Water, it was in the middle of the night and it went through the garden, our house was on the far edge of the village. I am certain it was too big to be a normal cat and not the right shape for a dog Many people have claimed to have seen big cats in Rutland. Seagazer
There's supposed to be one in the Bexley borough but I've never seen one. I would think that in such a built up area as ours that there would be confirmed sightings and not just grainy photos from afar. We had an encounter with one in Portugal but they tend to have ones roaming around over there.
Old Speckled Hen
Does anybody remember this story? http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2001/may/09/london It appeared that this cat had been managing to fend for itself and it was never discovered where she had come from. Seagazer
Can you imagine the look on the zoo keepers faces when they saw that it was actually a big cat!

Chrissie My husband is convinced that he has seen the Rutland panther. Having lived in the county my entire life I have not even come close to seeing it, despite regularly walking, cycling and driving around the county! There have been so many sightings though, that I am sure it is true. It just won't come out to play for me!
BERTIE MCSQUIRTY
i have 2 storys about big cats. one morning my 70 yr old neighbour knocked on my door - he didnt know what to do.....he had been to foxton locks in the morning and stopped his car for a stray black lab, only when he got out of the car and up close, the thing hissed at him and he could see it was a large cat of labrador size!! (there were 2 similar sightings of this cat in the same week too). 2nd story. about 15 yrs ago, hubby and i were at my cousins house in a very remote part of Scotland (north of Inverness), late at night i let the dogs out for a wee, and they shot in rapidly, i went out into the darkness and saw a large dark object in the garden, this thing hissed at me and made an awful growl. in the morning i told my cousin - and he informed me that there was a party sent by the ministry of agruculture looking for a panther in the area. The Dogmother
Oooo We're in big cat country here too; a few sightings around the outskirts of town, and loads in the villages. There's one place where I never go walking without the dog as there have been loads of sightings.
