ladyjulian
Since we've had the ladies, Adela's been picked on by the others. It hasn't been too serious and I was daft enough to say out loud that the anti-peck spray had cured it. Obviously that means it starts again, and this time the others have created a little bald patch, complete with red raw skin. On inspection it wasn't nearly as bad as it looked (I thought it was bleeding but it wasn't), but I've covered the bald bit in anti-wound powder and isolated her so that she has a chance to heal before going back in. She is being vocally unhappy about this. She obviously wants to be back in the run with the others and the dust bath and the peck a block and not in some crummy boring isolation unit. But if I let her go back in, she's going to get chewed some more. Argh.
theherd123
When I have had this situation I have isolated the bully chicken in an attempt to lower its status in the flock, sprayed the victims sore area with purple spray (gentian violet) and used anti peck rings. A combination of 1 or all of these actions have been useful in the past so might help with your chooks.
