Hi,

my gorgeous Pekin bantam has given me 2 lovely strong eggs.

But i am unsure on the sistuation that there was 2 eggs in the nesting box,

Could one small chicken lay 2 eggs on there first lay?

i checked in the morning and there was none, i checked at 3:00pm and there was

some little eggs there. I have 3 Pekins all together, but i think it is Blanche since she was acting funny before hand. Will i get any eggs tommorow?

chickens can lay two eggs in one day

 

Who knows if you will get eggs tomorrow?! no one knows for sure but normally chickens start to lay, lay a few within about a week and then have a rest - they wont be laying regularly for about a month

As she laid 2 today she may not lay tomorrow, but she should lay again within a week! It won't be consistent at first, but it gets better!

Haha, i didn't mean will she lay tommorow, i know that i wont know for certain, i mean that if she lays 2 eggs in a day, will she not lay a egg tommorow?

Hi,

 

Lady Lay laid 2 eggs on her first day!

 

I had gone out to clean them and there was a egg in the nest box (I was leaping round the garden singing an egg an egg an egg an egg an egg an egg an EGGGGGG)

 

She was acting all strange when i was cleaning them out so opened up the eglu and she went in and laid another egg

 

We've had a couple of times now where she's laid 2 eggs in one day (It happens every couple of weeks)
