crouchendchucks
A fox came in to our garden. It didn't do any damage, but kept running around the eglu. My mum says we cant stop it.Any advice?
Olly
One option is a Foxwatch. Opinions vary on how effective these are, but I found it stopped the fox from using the garden as a regular path. Foxes do have habitual trails that they follow, and if you can break that pattern it might help. Remember that it's only a deterrent though - not a preventative. Ditto that, it stopped someone elses problem, when the fox was around the WIR all the time, through the day too.
theherd123
A friend of mine has a Foxwatch and she is very happy with it. A fox took one chook and she then bought a Foxwatch and has never had a problem since - that was 4 years ago.
Chucky1
If the Foxwatch doesn't work how about the squirter (bit like a lawn waterer) that's connected to a PIR (passive infra red movement detector), I seem to remember them being advertised in the Sunday supplements before we left UK. sadietoo
I have a foxwatch but have found it makes precious little difference to a hungry and determined fox and it gets a thumbs down from me, sorry
chickyhazel
Try a foxwatch and if it doesn't work try and fox proof the garden by mending holes in hedges, fences, etc
sandyhas3chucks
I have a foxwatch but have found it makes precious little difference to a hungry and determined fox and it gets a thumbs down from me, sorry It has a long guarantee, send it back for checking., but it IS only a deterant, as you say hunger is a big driving force. I had 2 faulty! (I could personally hear the noise, so knew it was dodgy, drove me nuts!)
