I have a RIR that has laid an egg every day for 84 days, including her biggest one to day at 84g

 

She lays my biggest eggs out of the six of them, she is a happy little girl and follows me everywhere when I am in the run

 

Does anyone else have a hen who hasn't read the hen book and doesn't take a day off laying

 

I am assuming that she will just reduce her life span if she doesn't take a day off sometime

Thats brilliant! Some of them do just go on and on laying. I have a coral nick who lays enormous pale cream eggs and who never seems to have a day off. Sadly I think that their little bodies do pay the price.

My Maran was unstoppable the first 2 years and laid without a break, she's now well into her 3rd year and is still lovely & healthy and probably gives us 3 eggs a week - so not bad!

On of my ex batts Ace is a little trooper and rarely takes a day off. In fact she took a day off today and last took a day off 3 weeks ago, although she has gone nearly 2 months without a day off Never 84 days though

Laverne, one of my original Omlet laid for 9 months without a day off, poor girl.....
