However, many hospitals are tied into arrangements with commercial phone service providers and so will not permit use of mobile phones. Frankly, now that this report is out I don't see how they can insist. Private individuals have not signed agreements with these companies so cannot be bound by them, surely. Childrens hospitals might be excepted as no one would want camera phones being pointed at sick children, which could happen in a busy ward, without anyone realising....they could of course limit use to corridors only.
