Hi all,

 

I know the chicks are only 3 & 4 days old but they are starting to look a bit big for the electric hen now

 

Should i Adjust the height of the EH or wait a couple more days?

 

They have started to jump on top of it now too,It's amazing how high they can jump

Could you put it on a slope so they can choose what height to go at?

I have just rummaged around and found my EH instructions...it says it should be in line with their backs

Does it stay the same from day-old to a few weeks old?

+ whats the smallest/tallest height?

Well I havent had it long but the plan is to have it at about 4.5 inches at the front and about 3 at the back which by my calculations should take them to 5 weeks or so

 

Currently its at 6 and 4 for six week old chicks

 

Unless they are actively avoiding the heat raina I wouldnt worry too much

The don't spend much time under it, they only run under it if they get startled or when it's bedtime.
