Snowy
What gorgeous weather today - so we took advantage, got the wellies out and went out. Of course it had been pouring down all night, so everywhere was flooded. We went to Bradgate Park, north of Leicester city. It's great for walking with the kids and dog. The river was in full flow - very impressive Then we went to Gorse Hill city farm, took some photos just to share with you all! This little chap had been confined to barracks and was not too happy about it! The photo doesn't do him justice - he was a lovely lavender colour with lemon highlights around his neck and chest (I presume he is a Pekin bantam, you can just see his foot feathers) Again, not a brilliant picture because they are black - but this is a family of black Silkies, one male and three hens with three little chicks! They were so cute! Guess you'll just have to take my word for it! And for the piggie lovers: Two teenie weenie new piglets under their heat lamp. Aaaah! They had loads more, including a huge kelloggs cockerel with his harem trotting about the yards and a couple of grumpy geese that chased little son and made him cry! Well worth a visit if you're in the area!

Popcorn
Well....we probably crossed paths Snowy! We were on that exact same path in Braggy Park today too. Wasn't it gorgeous up there. So nice to get some sunshine and fresh air. Gorse Hill City Farm is another of our regulars. We take picnics up there. It's a lovely little place and the young children who help out up there are brilliant. The cafe do gorgeous home made cakes and lovely sunday roasts. We spoke to the owner about keeping chickens before we bought our Eglu and chooks, and he said we'd never look back, but if we did, they's consider having them off us.
