Hatched - Living Eggs - boys or girls - PHOTOS

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I organised for Living Eggs to supply my sons school with the incy and eggs etc and they came on Monday and so far this morning we have 9 chicks and one egg with a little beak pecking at it so its hopefully out now.

They are totally gorgeous and I am in love! Photos will soon be on here for you all.

What I keep getting asked is if they are boys or girls as so far we have 8 chicks with brown feathers and one (my favourite) who is a yellow fluffy thing (falls asleep in my hands tucks himself in my top!).

I am really going to struggle to say goodbye to them but dont think I have the facility to keep any (a new WIR and a eglu with three chickens in it).

Anyway so is brown girls and yellow a boy or other way round!?

Thanks

michelle

It depends on whether they are autosexing, sex linked or neither

I would have thought that the company would have told you if you could tell what sex they were on hatching as that would be a massive 'selling point'

If they didnt I would assume that they are not autosexing or sex linked

IF they are sex linked then yellow normally means boy and amber means girl if remember correctly

If they are not sex linked then that logic goes out the window though
