I have a really long border full of shrubs which WAS covered in bark chips! They seem determined to fling all the bark on the grass. Chook heaven. They seem to dig up all the stones in my garden and fling them around the "lawn" to the extent that the chap who cuts my grass has complained about the effect on the blades of his hover mower!
