Needn't have worried about the grass ...

Recommended Posts

I am amazed at how much they can fling stuff around! They seem to dig up all the stones in my garden and fling them around the "lawn" to the extent that the chap who cuts my grass has complained about the effect on the blades of his hover mower!

I bought these http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/Netting+Trellis/Wilko-Wicker-Fence-93cmx42cm/invt/0169816?htxt=HLseM6aejP7v6OCmQat%2Fe%2FYtmFZqpCqIzklLkRoCF79qgiVen22ZyfWHq3udWr2ushmE5RTDMM0z%0AqWc5R%2BTQRw%3D%3D to push in the front of our raised flower bed as they were pretty determined to get the bark off and pull the membrane up  It seems to be holding the bark on (looks nice too) but I'm hoping once the plants establish better in the beds it wont matter...otherwise their free-ranging area may be somewhat curtailed :notalk:

As for lawn, they pluck the grass and have dug like mad in some bare patches where we were levelling the lawn and about to reseed... might have to fence of those areas too for now

Those Wilkinsons things look nice but it would cost a fortune as my border is so very long - so I'll just let them get on with it!

They don't seem to bother eating the plants or shrubs.

Mind you, my girlies are only bantams! I hate to THINK what distance a big girl could fling things!
