Well the arrived yesterday morning thanks to George and this morning I let the girls out after the total fiasco last night of trying to get them into the Eglu in the dark and cold.

Just saying goodbye with the children for the day and there was our first lovely fresh egg on the floor of the run.

 

So my question is how do I get them to lay in the Eglu? I'm sure there was something on here about it but I just can't locate it.

Try putting a couple of golf balls in the nesting area and they will soon learn where to lay.

Struggled to get them to bed tonight again and endded up with a scratched lip for my trouble!! Grrrr! Guess they'll learn soon enough.

Honey laid her first egg in the run - she lays in the nest now, I think she was just caught unawares Poke them into the eglu with a broom - usually works.

Congratulations on the egg . All of mine laid their first egg somewhere odd, but all the eggs after that were in the nestbox .
