chickencam
It realy has. My children would get their lunch banned on a daily basis. We eat well as a family but we make the sandwiches the night before, we therefore limit things like cucumber, lettuce etc, because of a complicated process called osmosis, which doesn't seem to occur in pre-packed butties, such things go soggy and horrible. Apart from the odd slice of onion very little veg matter makes it onto their sandwiches, but they eat fruit when they come home and plenty of veg with their evening meal. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a cheese sandwich, infact when you are really hungry, it really hits the spot. Not only that it provides, protein, calcium and vitamins, not to mention fat which is essential to a childs brain development.
Valkyrie
I used to have cheese and tomato sarnies, but I don't really like cheese like that, so had the toms instead. Lovely and soggy they were - you could almost suck them up! Rediculous thing to do - and only 2 years old! I'm relieved that my son has rediscovered cheese at 19! I thought it would be something to do with health and safety - doorsteps for little kids are dangerous!

WarrensWorld
Please don't tell them that I'm addicted to the toasted bacon and cheese sandwich. Yes it's smoked bacon and mature cheddar cheese.....
bronze
So a hungry 2 year old is better than a cheese sandwich I hate all these rules. I feed them well at home in the knowledge that it means that I can cut corners a bit sometimes. The school dinner menu on the other hand...choc pudd with choc sauce etc
