Introductions

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Does anyone know the best way to introduce 1 Female Chook to 2 Hens?

I was going to keep the only female and once she was 12 weeks old keep her outdoors in her wooden coop next to the big girls till she was about 18 - 20 weeks then just plaster them all in anti-pecking spray and hope for the best :anxious:

If anyone could offer any advice that would be great :D

Thanks for the Link Christian :D

I'd love to get another chook so i could do a 2 on 2 intro but i don't think my mum would allow any more chooks as she said they will be my last hens  (She's had alot of people turn down our house because of the chooks :anxious: )

Will try and ask her though :pray:

It really is easier - when we inherited Noodle (Bluebelle) , who had turned up in a friends garden one day and been kept in a cardboard box for a month before we got her, we got Cracker GNR to keep her company for a few weeks, then introduced them to the others. Noodle settled in very well and is now top hen, and was good friends with Cracker.
