Tony
Got half a dozen new Araucana's. Two black, two lavender and two barred lavender. The two blacks and two lavenders have dark legs, the two barred have light legs, is that how they're supposed to be? Never had Araucana's before. My four old girls are getting on a bit now and egg laying is getting a bit erratic so I thought I'd have something different. Photo's are here... http://homepage.ntlworld.com/t.boom/tbc/Chickens.html Not great photo's, iPhone through the wire.

Tony
How old are they - are they still under heat? They were 7 weeks when we got them, kept them indoors for a week and last night was their first night outside on their own. They were perfectly fine this morning. Problem is I keep all my birds down my allotment and I spend so much time watching them when I should be growing things. I fancied Araucana's mainly for the blue eggs and was lucky enough to find this place just 20 minutes drive from me. http://www.archieslittlegems.co.uk/ 4 months I've got to wait for eggs, maybe even longer. How painful is that!
sparkysmum
Hi we have a lavender araucana called Pompom or Little Pom, she is beautiful & much loved But she is quite flighty & last year would take to the trees at the drop of a hat She hasn't done this recently tho' Don't want to upset you but she was fully 9 months old before she laid but she has laid consistently since then (except when she is broody) Yours look gorgeous and makes ME all broody again
