Chick-a-doodle-doo
this morning.. How long do you think they could go without the heat?? (even thought hubby did put the two incy's in our bed under the quilt ) I don't think we kept them warm enough.. I had copper blue and some georgous frizzle eggs in.. I have 12 more days to go.. atsw
All depends how long the power was out. When hatching with a broody hen, she'll get off the eggs for 15-20mins each day to take a comfort break without any undue harm to the eggs/hatchlings. More than that, and then it can become a problem. You're only half-way through, so keep going, and candle if possible in another 5 days time. Madchook
Does depend how long, and what the drop in temp was. You might be ok - just expect a delay in hatch
tom123
I had a broody who came off for just over an hour everyday and her eggs still hatched (4/6)
Redwing
It depends on how well built and insulated the inccy is If you opened the lid at all that would have had a severe effect. If you didnt and the inccy is a decent one you may well be ok The longer the eggs have been in the better as they can retain a bit of heat when the embryo is bigger so you wont have the best chance of sucess overall Fingers crossed
Mars
A month ago I had power cut, for 5 ½ hours I wasn't at home, there were 26 eggs in it, 26 hatched "well one died shortly after hatching" I couldn't believe it I don't expect you to believe it either but it did happen, the eggs were 18 days when I had power cut. I was outside, when I came home there was no electriciy, I knew it was 5 ½ hours from the letter of my electricity provider warning of the power cut “I didn’t read it in time “ “thankfully”.
