Guest
hope it's okay to post this here, it just broke my heart to think of those poor girls on their way to freedom and this happens! I'm donating and I'm sure many of you would like to do the same... message from the charity... "Little Hen Rescue are in desperate need of donations. Yesterday one of the 4x4 vehicles and it's trailer transporting newly rescued ex battery hens was involved in a freak accident resulting in the A14 being closed. Please, even if it's £1 go to their website and donate all you can. LHR wouldn't normally ask but it's c...rucial to be able to feed the surviving injured hens - they cannot be rehomed yet for obvious reasons. Thank you xx"http://littlehenrescue.co.uk/help.aspx

LuckyChickenLover-
Oh how terrible! My school is having a non-uniform day on friday, where we are allowed to go into school wearing whatever you want, as opposed to school uniform, in return for donating £1 to a charity we choose. Hopefully, if I can persuade my class to choose LHR as our charity, I might be able to raise £25+ for them. Thanks for the post and for raising awareness Poet. Guest
what a great idea, well done! I couldn't not let you all know as, like me, I knew you'd want to do everything you could. Such a heartbreaking thing to happen.
Ms Tilytinkle
Bless my 17 year old, we were talking about this accident then I showed her the website & she almost cried (again) at the little chickens in the knitted jumpers. She's in the middle of her A levels but she's going to try to collect any donations from her friends in 6th form MsTilyisenjoyingsomeElderflowerCoridal thenaughinessandcoffee&cakeorfruitypimmsvicewillreturnlaterhehe
Tutti Frutti
is google safe...? I've paid for things with Google Checkout before and had no problems I wondered why they weren't accepting donations on justgiving.com nor asking for Gift Aid and their website says they're a limited company, not a charity (as it gives added security - not the first time I've come across that, Monkey World in Dorset is a company too). Hens@HalfMoonLane
Thanks poet, I put a cheque in the post this morning. It's so sad, they must be exhausted looking after all these extra hens.
