Diana1
Still haven't had the chance to buy any of this auboise stuff or straw for that matter. Would like to see eggs in a nice nest. Put dry leaves there this morning before any were laid. When they used to roam freely in winter they would lay on these leaves so it might be nice. Just checked - two beautiful eggs in a bed of leaves - nice and clean too. My husband has gone to the Natural History Museum today with Y2 school children as a helper. In his packed lunch - the brightest yellow egg mayonaise. yum. Think I'll get my lunch now. What'll it be?
Olly
I would love to see eggs nestling in a nice nest of straw ... but every time I've put either paper or aubiose in there, they pick it out and scatter it around the run They don't seem to mind laying on the plastic, and the eggs seem fine! The Dogmother
I wouldn't worry Olly - some people's chooks just prefer a 'naked nest'
