Blue-DiamondChick07
I bought a bag of Ex Batt pellets today at the rescue, and realised once I got home (when its too late) that they need crumbs what to do? They spent a few hours eating greens from the run, and pecked a bit at the food - will they start to eat the pellets? Or can I give them Mash? I have Layers Mash, but not the Ex Batt Crumb - so peeved I was sold the wrong bag
Christian
They will be used to layers mash, so feed them that. You could mix a few pellets in for now and gradually up the pellet/mash ratio until they are on only pellets. Best to not feed them just pellets as it will be a shock to them. At least with mash they are used to it.

Thanks for the reply
THF Nick
We got a couple of ex-bats last week with a bag of crumb and within a few hours of arriving in their new home they decided that they preferred to eat the layers pellets the main girls eat. They also seem to like dried cat food that a smashed with rolling pin
Egluntyne
They will be fine on ordinary layers mash. I never gave mine special ex batt feed.

Good to see them eating, If I'd known, I would have just put them on that and not bother with the special feeds typical eh thanks for the help just hope they are finding the water.... Lavenders_Blue
If you want to give them the ex batt feed you can blitz the pellets in the food processor.

Unit
Reading all your questions are getting me rather excited to get my girls!!! It's great to see that all the things I'm thinking I need to ask have already been asked - and well answered! Makes me feel less awkward about asking and yet I still get the knowledge of others! Blue-DiamondChick07
I feel like I'll get a ban for asking too many silly Q's I do worry though, but the girls definatley seemed more settled, and I just clocked Big Bird drinking
