iar fach goch
I am in London next weekend and am staying in greenwich holiday Inn. Am looking for somewhere nice to go for a meal Saturday, preferably quite close to the hotel, and am looking for somewhere between hotel and o2 on Sunday for a quick bite before Bon Jovi. Have been told by everyone to avoid o2 eating places because they will be horrendously busy, but no one has been able to suggest an alternative!AAAAHHHHHH! I hate it when i'm put in charge of these things, especially as I've never been there before. Any suggestions? C&T
If you go early enough, then eating in the O2 is not impossible - but you do need to leave plenty of time. It's a good atmosphere, and the restaurants are all geared up to turn food around quickly. It's where we normally go - but appreaciate if you want a more leasurely meal it is not the place for you! stoice
I'm seeing Bon Jovi tomorrow (YAY!) so will scope the place out for ya. I'm meeting a mate in a spoons type slug and lettuce place about an hour before doors open, hopefully it won't be busy, if it is we'll just grab a take away bite, like a burger or something. SO excited. Woah, we 're half way there...
C&T
If you want to eat - might be worth making it 2 hrs before the show. Time will pass quickly enough, and you might struggle with just 1 hour??
stoice
OK, cool, thanks C&T
Seagazer
We've always eaten in the O2 before the shows, never had too much problem. We've eaten in Las Iguanas a couple of times and then in Groucho (think thats what its called) for a special meal the last time we went. oops its actually Gaucho I've also eaten in the cowboy restaurant there with my sons and a couple of their friends. As long as you give yourself enough time you should be fine.

stoice
OMG!!!!! It was brilliant! Apparently they're doing a different set every night so I'm not sure you get the same songs but it was a great mix of their new stuff plus plenty of their classics. As for the food situation. I came off the jubilee line and walked to the entrance (Ticket gate B as it turns out). There are loads of food places to choose from (Not especially cheap) We had a burger with fries that came to £9 something each. Nice though. I'd say it'd cost more for a 'proper' meal. The slug and lettuce where i met up with my friend was standing room only and that was an hour and a half before the gates open! So we went else where. There's a franky & bennys, pizza places etc. clicky thingy Once through the gates there is standard burger vendors and hot dog stands (And a pint is £4.30!!) Have fun, I know i did. Rhapsody
How fantastic was that concert? BTW-We (me +SILs) went to Thai Silk for the pre-gig menu £9 2 courses + veg, really nice- JBJ just gets hotter as he gets older and the band are as tight as ever. Fave moment was the deconstructed bit to front stage with all the band including Dave Bryan on Accordian and Tico on tamborine. Drove home in the Quattro with 'Crossroads' blaring Whoop whoop! stoice
David Bryan won't be there on Sunday sadly. He's nominated for an award for another musical he's written, so he's popping back to the US. Jon did a piece to camera recording a message and got us to cheer and wave behind him. (So if you ever watch the award ceremony I'm the 1379th on the right waving like mad! LOL)
iar fach goch
Hi, we're at the bottom, towards the back, one of the girls I'm going with is sooooo scared of heights so we had to play safe! It's quite funny really because she's nearly 6ft and wears heels but hangs on for dear life when going upstairs in the theatre. She is adamant that she is not going on the London Eye !
