thenewchick
Just a quick maybe stupid question but can you take leg rings off? Two of my chickens have them on so I could tell them apart but I think I can do that now without the legs rings and would like to take them off. I did try and have a look but didnt want to hurt them. Thank you Janice
Alis girls
I got my leg rings from Pets at home - they are plastic and I think you could click them off. I'm leaving mine on - my gingers all look so alike unless they are together I struggle to know who is who. sad but true
Redwing
It depends what type of leg rings they are Spiral ones wind round the leg like a split ring on a key ring Click ones click together but slide apart Fixed ones dont have any openings so those will need to be cut off with some snips or pliers When you remove them be careful to stretch them away from the leg so they dont catch on the leg scales
Lewis
We got flat spiral ones for the chicks so just cut them off with scissors hen they've grown up and need a bigger size - you can unwind them but its a faff when they're wriggling The clip ones you can unclip. I'd leave them on tbh - don't do any harm
