attenbhp
Poor Wendy. She's 2.5 yo, and has layed an egg every single day for the last 2 years solid, but has suddenly got serious problems. There was quite a lot of blood around her vent, but when I cleaned it up, there was no sign of any injury - or anything. It all looked perfectly normal. She's stopped laying, and now has very watery poo. She's not eating well, and tends to be very quiet. Immediately before this, I introduced 3 new hens. That went pretty well, with just a bit of bullying by Bob (the other 2.5yo). Wendy had no apparent issues, and hangs around with the new girls. Any ideas anyone? lillybettybabs
She could have a infection in her digestive tract.
Christian
A small amount of blood goes a very long way. Maybe she laid a soft shelled egg and it was eaten before you saw it? Has she been wormed recently? That would be my first course of action with watery droppings. Feeding bokashi bran with probiotic yoghurt will settle her stomach and help firm things up. Egluntyne
My guess would be worms too. I'd worm her with Flubenvet if you haven't already.
Jools
I'd be inclined to get a droppings sample tested for an accurate diagnosis so you can get the correct treatment for whatever ails her. The blood doesn't sound good tbh. Fingers crossed.
