Take part in study on PFAS 'forever chemicals' in eggs

Hi All

 

Well our 4 new Chickens arrived along with their new home. A nice green Cube. Cube needs to have a panal or 2 replaced as it does not fit together properly and has bee built so we can use it for the time being.

 

Our new Chickens are called, Maud, Molly, Paxo and Slasher. Can you guess what ones I named hehehehehe.

 

WIll upload some pics soon and then you might understand why I called her Slasher..........

Slasher - lol That is a brilliant name.

I'm going to pinch that and store to memory for any future chooks.

Now do you see why I called her Slasher......... My own fault. Mr Omlet showed us how to clip the wings but when I done the next one, I hadn't got hold of her very well and this is the result.......... Ouch (and a few other expletives)

It looks fab, ours comes next Thursday.....Unfortunately without Mr Omlet, so my husband will have to dust off his tool box (not something he is looking forward to). Bet it takes longer to put together than yours!!!!!!!!!!!! x

Mr Omlet was here for 2 hours. But he did have a few probs with one of the side panels not fitting correctly and a replacement has been ordered.

 

Apart from that its good. Our 4 little friends have been setting the pecking order, and lo and behold, Slasher is Queen at the moment. Im just hopeing that they will put themselves to bed tonight. Somehow I can't help thinking that Im going to have to go in and show them how to walk up ladders soon.

OUCH! Slasher sounds like she's going to be a right one Hope your tetanus is up-to-date! I heard just recently about being immunised for life if you've had a certain number of Tetanus vaccines - can't remember how many though (or if it's true!) so worth calling your surgery for their advice.

Its three tetanus injections over the course of your lifetime. Which most people have had. That looks really sore

Girls had to be put to bed just now. Dont think they appriciated it though, but after having 4 hours sleep in last 48hours I did lol.

 

Shall see how they master it tomorrow night now, Slasher is lead hen at the mo and seems to take great delight in picking on both Gingernut rangers (Mabel and Maud, and not what I put in first post) (Wife most upset that i already got names wrong.......)

A chicken did that to you!?! Blimey, keep your eye on that one!

 

Cube looks great, same colour as ours. Our Cube didn't take so long to put together, probably an hour at most, but we didn't have the run so I don't know how complicated that is.

 

The girls look lovely! The black/ginger ones remind me of my Betty, and just thinking about her is getting my blood pressure up... blooming chicken.

Think it looks worse than it is, It really is just a scratch. well maybe a little worse than just a scratch but its not really that bad, and it was entirly my fault for not picking her up properly. leasons learned me thinks..... Always wear a long sleaved top hehehehehe.
