Fur 'n' Feathers
Mmm! Interesting watching the reactions this time. It seems that our established 2 hens (the ones introduced to our original ladies last year, now all RIP) have reacted quite vocally to the newbies. Both pairs are eyeballing across the safe divide of the 2 runs, but when out free-ranging Aspro & Pitsi are spending time posturing to the newbies in their run! This is very different behaviour from the oldies when we introduced Aspro & Pitsi, but our original trio were very docile. In particular, Pitsi seems to have been most disconcerted, possibly because she was bottom hen when introduced & faces the prospect again now we're back from 2 to 4? Aspro is challenging Koukoula, possible because she's a similar colour (white), but also because she has been the top hen quite clearly since the last integration. Wethinks this will be a rather different intros this time Gently does it is the byword!
Pikey
Gorgeous girls.......I think Light Sussex def needs to be on my shopping list. Intros seemed to be so mixed.......free ranging together is the best just before they go to bed.....however when you think you have it sussed they decide to fight. Good luck.
