jennybrom
I have a 6 week old pekin chick, appears fine but we found what looks like a strange air bubble under the skin in the right shoulder area - is this something we should be worried about and can we do anything about it? The chick seems fine in terms of behaviour and development - there are feathers growing over the bubble it just seems a bit weird! thanks,
Egluntyne
Could it be a cyst?
Plum
Could it be an ingrown feather rather than air. Laurmurf had a chicken with that. If I remember the picture it was a white mound.
francesca88
Is it otherwise alright? I had a very sick quail chick a few months ago who had this too, but I never found out what it was She's fine now though
jennybrom
thanks for the replies. we've given it a gentle poke and it's definitely air or fluid and it's not rock hard like i'd expect an ingrown feather to be - it's also rather large, at least the size of a 10p.
