Tutti Frutti
We're moving house (fingers crossed ) so we need something temporary and QUICK to set-up for the 7 girls whilst we dismantle the WIR here and then reassemble at the other end a few days later Yikes. And just as we finally got our garden sorted Anyway, I've been lucky to get a second run (thank you to the Omleteer who sold it to me!) so my idea was to join the runs together at the door end (leave the door panels off) to make a 4m run with an Eglu at each end. But I don't think it'll work, as (1) the ends are sloped, (2) how would I top up the grub and glug and (3) 4m sounds diddy for 7 girls accustomed to a life of luxury in a WIR (although they'll be on mud as no lawn in the new garden - yet - chook heaven ). Anyway, I've got ANOTHER Ebay buy that I pick up tomorrow and wondered if I could feed each run into this It's 60cms tall (by 120x180) - not tall enough for the run to attach to directly so I planned on leaving the door panels on with the doors opening into this metal run. It has sliding doors on two sides, a wider opening door at the end and a flap on the top. So I think I have options... what do you reckon? What could possibly go wrong (excluding the house surveys!!!)??? Does anyone look at this and think, hang on, you could do XYZ (Lewis where are you!!???!!! You gave me the idea with your rabbit run in your WIR! So if it all goes Pete Tong, Mr Frutti says you owe him £15 ) Thanks. There might be a prize in this! Plum
Why can't you put the runs directly onto it? Leave the door panels on and doors open matched up against the sliding doors. How exciting moving house. Hope you don't find it too stressful.
Tutti Frutti
YAY! And you win first prize for the first answer I guess I'll know more tomorrow when I have a pile of metal in my garden!!! Yes, Eglu run doors to sliding doors and then I can use the bigger opening door to do food/water... hmm

Lewis
I don't think I understand properly - its late You have 2 eglus, 2 eglu runs and the new big rabbit run and want to attach them together? I'd have the eglus attached to the eglu runs, run doors open and attached to the rabbit run ... or could you attach the eglus to the new run? If not you could just have the chucks in the eglus and runs? That run was £15?! I missed out on a bargain there! A newbie moved into mine today ... Tutti Frutti
That run was £15?! I missed out on a bargain there! Actually it was a tiny bit more... I couldn't believe my luck, I only started looking Sunday afternoon and won this yesterday and it's 5 miles up the road! The girls are spending their money on Ebay so quickly, I might have to set them up with their own account. 3 things in 9 days, cheeky girls... The Eglu run, the rabbit run and this posh table for their Eglus (I didn't tell the lady selling it that it was for my chickens ) Wonder if they'll buy me any furniture when we move??? I'm not allowed to buy anything else now because (1) money (2) we can't store it and (3) then we've got to move it. Oh well, won't stop me looking
Tutti Frutti
Do I get a prize, I'll take Angelina Oi hands of my bird! Yes you do but it's not warm and feathery and cuddly Did I ever tell you, she likes being tickled under her chin between her wattles (sounds like a euphamism sp) I don't think I understand properly - its late You have 2 eglus, 2 eglu runs and the new big rabbit run and want to attach them together? Correct If not you could just have the chucks in the eglus and runs? That's what DH said - I got told off for spending more or could you attach the eglus to the new run? Aha! I knew someone would think outside the box! Good idea, I'll try it out A newbie moved into mine today ... {gasp} {Sharp intake of breath} She's BEAUTIFUL! I'm very OOh, nearly forgot - Mr TF said if we build a bigger run at our new house, I can have a Bluebell!!! But of course I'd have to get her a new friend too... Maran, DARK EGGS!!! YAY! scarlettohara
If you get stuck Wilko sell green plastic netting/fencing which is great for moulding over gaps - I have some it was about £
Tutti Frutti
If you get stuck Wilko sell green plastic netting/fencing which is great for moulding over gaps - I have some it was about £10 Yay! Thank you, is it fox-proof? That's the only thing, as the chooks will be first to move into the house and will be left in this run in the garden "home alone" whilst we shuttle between old and new houses (only moving a few miles so hope to save a few quid and move ourselves in a van)... And the new house is right opposite some woods {thinking foxy loxy}. They'll have to live in this for a few days, a couple at this end and a few more at the other {gulp}
jill the potter
I think that it would be safer for them to be just housed in the two eglus with their runs attached - at least you know they are fox-proof. They might be a bit miffed for a couple of days but at least they would be safe, and I'm sure they'll have forgotten once things were back to normal. Sorry to agree with DH
Plum
They would be fox proof then. It's really galling to have to agree with OH. How about keeping them in your bathroom and kitchen? They could roost on the towel rails

Tutti Frutti
Right. Bearing in mind that DH said I could have a Bluebelle, I'm in the process of buying a cube WOO HOO!!!!! So one of my Eglus is going but all in a good cause It also means the Eglu run I bought last week is surplus to requirements! Typical, eh? DH needs sweetening up So once we've moved in, got the new WIR in place, I'll be selling the run. But the other good news is that the rabbit run I bought is amazing - heavy metal (man). So I'm going to think of a way of rigging that up to the cube temporarily - possibly taking the wheels off the cube or raising the run on sleepers. All TBC But no doubt it'll be raining when it happens
Tutti Frutti
I've got my Tower Egglets is no more as I had to say bye bye to my shame but I know the new owner is very happy and so am I and... drum roll... so are my girls! They're all tucked up in the cube right now and I didn't finish assembling it until 10pm Oh happy days!
