You're spot on Sezra, we were told ours were 18 months old when we got them (so they're about 2 now) so it's about 5-6 months growing to POL then a year of laying then "retirement". Our wonderful girls are going through the henopause (I guess they're middle aged to elderly) but I wouldn't be without them. I really hope we get another year or so of their company :) But every day, I can see they're like little old ladies, getting grumpy with the young whippersnappers (who are a year and 6 months old ).

Hi we've had our ex batt Boris just over 2 years. So if she was a year to 18mths when we got her she's now at least 3 to 3.5 yrs old :D She's top chook & a tough old thing. We've had a couple of health scares recently but recovered 100% each time, She's in fine fettle and does a fair road runner impersonation :D She's the funniest thing who sneaks into the kitchen as soon as you look the other way. Love her to bits - we all do :) Go on get some ex batts, soon you'll love them too :!:

I'm also thinking of getting 3. Been looking at a place called Happy chicks. But I could also easily get some straight from the battery farm in the same lane as my sister lives. ( She knows them well ). But I think I'd like them to have had a little health check & wormed - so I think Happy chicks would be better or the BHWT.
