Take part in study on PFAS 'forever chemicals' in eggs

Hi there everyone,

 

Sorry for just turning up like this but I would very much like to get some chickens. I have wanted them since we moved to our new house last year and now we have a space at the end of the garden that is ideal for them (it was going to be a flower bed but actually, an eglu go and run would fit in there perfectly! So I intend to lay chipbark down.

 

I just wanted to know how many chickens it's ok to get? 2 or 3? They will be in the run during the day and at night but I am happy to let them have a run around in the garden after work and at the weekends.

 

Would 3 be too tight a squeeze? I know the website says you could keep 4 in there but I'd rather let the little critters have space to spread out.

As they will be in there most of the time I'd say two

hi I have 3 in my 'Go' but they do get quite a lot of free range time. Its not so much the size of the eglu but the size of the run that counts. Within weeks of having them we then go on to wanting a walk in run lol. In process of talking my husband into building me one. He is not impressed!!

HI, you can easily fit 3 in the Go itself (it's very spacious inside, and has excellent headroom too), but the problem is that the run isn't big enough for 3. I would therefore say 2, unless they have extensive free ranging time, or a separate secure run.

 

I haven't seen extensions for the Go available in the OMlet shop, but it might be worthwhil asking Omlet whether they do them?

I have also got 3 in mine but mine do also have quite a bit of free range time. I have phoned Omlet about an extension for the Go run and was told that there is not one currently available but they are looking into it and they don't know how long it will be before it is available.

I've got 3 and they do free range. I wanted 3 in case 1 died and then I've got one to fall back on. Paranoid me
