bennett
Bought 6 peking eggs from ebay and ALL 6 have hatched. I was shocked when i finally lifted mum up today , to see al eggs broken and 6 beautiful chicks So after all the drama of will they wont they, i must be one of the lucky ones. I have heard so many people say that ebay eggs are hit and miss but i guess that the person i got them from was a good seller. I am soooo happy, not sure if i should mone them in to the eglu yet though as with the chick converter there is still a big jump to get out of it. ??? The Dogmother
I use a bit of wood to make a step outside the Eglu door - they don't seem to have any problem with that.

bennett
http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac294/bennett06/Chicks/chick1.jpg http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac294/bennett06/Chicks/chick2.jpg this is the link to the photo's - i am having a nightmare trying to do this - dont think omlet likes macs! 1 pic has four in and 1 has 5 chicks in can't seem to get them all out at once! I have now moved her to the Eglu and all seems fine, although she did chuck a bit of a mental until i put the chicks in with her - 4 of them are feeding and drinking fine, i think the other 2 were the late hatchers and seem to be firmly under her for the time being! bennett
I am very pleased, the seller on ebay i got them from is dibble21 they are in tiverton in devon. They came packaged very well which may have helped, i'm not sure, i think i have just been lucky with all hatching, lets hope they are all girls! I have already named one Violet as they are all lavender pekins i thought i would keep on the purple theme!
karlotta
They are gorgeous! I've got lavender pekins on my list too! Great result with the ebay eggs too. You always hear such bad things, so it's good to hear a success story!
The Dogmother
One of my best brooders is a lavender pekin, she's small but a real demon. She's just over 5YO now and still lays the odd egg.
Jools
6 / 6 is quite a result from posted eggs, never mind ebay eggs! Well done!! I usually only get 100% from my own eggs and i think the most I've ever had from posted eggs was 4 / 6. Here's hoping they're all girls lol. bennett
All 6 are doing well but mum is v v v Hot and panting in the eglu, tried to coax her out with some meal worms but the chicks keep calling her back, she gets all confused bless her. Shall i put the chicks into the run and let her come for them as abit of breeze will do mum some good. !
Charlottechicken
Well done on the hatch rate! I'm a little jealous as this year I have hatched one chick out of 12 eggs from ebay. Last year, at my first hatch attempt, I got 5/6 from ebay eggs. Please leave follow up feedback for your seller on ebay so others know the hatch rate. Roobaloo
I'm a little jealous as this year I have hatched one chick out of 12 eggs from ebay. That's disappointing to hear...I'm on Day 11 and down to 4 eggs left from the initial 12.
