CannyCat
We moved into our house last summer, and brought with us a 3 year old Rowan tree in a pot, which I've had since it was a wee stick in a pot of earth (and it now a good 3 metres tall, albeit quite skinny) We want to plant it in our garden, but we dont think we'll be able to do that for another month or so - it involves digging a bush up - but it's already budding and getting ready to flower (for the first time - exciting!). Can we replant it once it starts flowering, or is it best to wait til next spring?
Jools
If it's growing in a pot, you can plant it at any time of year - it's only bare root plants that need to be planted from late autumn to early spring. Good luck with it - I love Rowans
Lesley
I back what Jools says - fine if it's been in a pot. I love Rowans as well, beautiful trees and the birds love the berries - or you can make jelly with them, Yum!
CannyCat
Fab, thank you! Mine has flowered for the first time this year, but I dont know whether we'll get any berries - no rowans nearby, and I dont know if they're self-pollinating (would guess not)
