I have gotten a cockerel and that means my chicken eggs are now fertile. I am now worried that chicks will start to form in the eggs in the heat of my kitchens. Has this ever happened to you? Any addvice on having fertile eggs and storing them?

No its not happened to me but we have moved the egg skelter off the windowsill just in case! we try to keep the eggs reasonably cool anyway whether they are fertile or not

My brother had the awful experience recently of cracking an egg for breakfast (bought from Waitrose) into the pan and .... he said it fairly put him off eating eggs for weeks! I was able to assure him that the eggs I bring him are definitely not fertilised.

I have a friend that hatched 2 Columbian Blacktails from some Waitrose eggs that they popped in an incubator

I once left some fertile eggs on the kitchen windowsill in a plastic egg box. They did start to form veins. I think the combo of direct sunlight and the plastic box acted like an incy. So now I keep them in the dining room which is one end of the kitchen away from the cooker and and not had any problems just from regular kitchen temperatures.

Should I actually keep the rooster if stuff like this happens?

If you follow the advice about refrigerating the eggs, or at least storing them in a cool place, you will have no problems.

Its really very unusual - I wouldn't let it put you off. It was my own fault for leaving them in the warmth. Keep them cool and you'll be fine.
